Help Me Help YouStep 2).Request Hosting===================I have owned PromoterHost for many years. Up until now, I have been recommending other free web hosts. But I have decided, due to the poor quality of those hosts (and the fact that they go up and down like yo-yo's) - that I'd set one up for myself. So, if you're willing to be patient with me and set up your website with PromoterHost, while I pretty much use you as a guinea pig (at least for a start) in order to get the hosting running correctly, I am more than willing to offer you the best hosting and service that I am able to provide -- for free.
If you would like web hosting, please create a thread here and request the hosting. Please explain what you intend on doing with the hosting account. Your request will help me to determine whether PromoterHost is suitable for your plans.
If you already have a website, but are dissatisfied with your current web hosting provider (paid or free), there's a high chance I'll take you on board, because I can see that you're actually serious about setting up a website. If you do not currently have a website, and can't clearly demonstrate/explain that you're serious about setting one up, I probably wont accept your request.
Conditions- The website must be in English
- The hosting must not be used for data storage or file serving
- The hosting must be used for a "legitimate" and active website
- The hosting must be used for a professional reason, not a personal homepage
- No adult, download, gambling, or server/resource hogging websites.
- You are willing to be patient while I iron the creases out of the service
The hosting account must be used for one domain only. If I log onto the server and find that you've set up subdomains and add-on accounts for all your buddies, I'll most likely have a pretty big hissy fit. Please just be reasonable. If I give you an inch, please don't take a mile. It's hard to get reliable and efficient free web hosting. In order for the service to remain useful, I need everyone to be respectful of the service, and use common sense.I am specifically looking to host websites where the hostee(s) want to set up some sort of business website, money making website, affiliate program website, marketing website, etc. I am sure you get the idea. I am looking for budding netpreneurs who are not yet making $1.00, but need a safe, secure and reliable place to get things set up without having to spend a heap of money.
NoteYou must have the domain that you're using with the hosting entered into both your profile and signature and website field of your profile. The reason for this is so that I can clearly see which member belongs to which website.
Having said all of the above, I understand that even though the hosting is free, you want at least some degree of responsibility from me. I have been a hosting "customer" for over 10 years now, and I know the problems that can occur with hosts like the back of my hand. I believe I will run a hosting service properly, because I know what it's like to be the customer. I will run everything as though I were using the service myself.
Once you have requested hosting, I will send you a key which will enable you to sign up. You will not be able to sign up without that key. I don't want to turn on automatic registration, because I can foresee that will result on nothing but trouble.
Lastly, please let me reiterate -- I am just one guy willing to provide a service. Please remember that. I might not always be around for support, but I hope that as members grow here, you'll help each other out. I will do what I can, of course, and I will answer questions and deal with problems as time permits, but if you could help each other out -- that would be great.
All hosting requests are moderated. This means that I must review the request, before I make it live. If your request is accepted, I will approve the request and it will be displayed on the website. If it is not accepted, I will move it to a private section where I can keep it for future reference. The reason I am moderating the requests is so that if I do not accept your request, it doesn't become public - and therefore you have no reason to be offended. If I do not accept your request, please don't get upset with me. It's not personal.
